The Saturday memorable game drew 27.33 million viewers on Fox Sports channels, its Spanish-language channel and their streaming platforms. Per ratings data, it was the second most-watched program of the previous week.

It also is the most-watched World Series matchup after the 2017 Game 7 involving the Dodgers and Houston Astros, which drew 29.07M. This marks a sixteen percent increase compared to the last Game 7 between the Washington Nationals and Houston Astros, which attracted 23.19 million viewers.

In the weekly rankings, the sixth game ranked fourth, the fourth game was seventh, Game 5 was 8th, and Game 3 finished in 13th place.

In the Japanese market, where the final contest started at 9 p.m. local time, it attracted 12 million. This came after last Friday’s sixth game – where Fall Classic Most Valuable Player Yamamoto allowed one run in six innings – drew over 13 million viewers, making it the most-watched World Series matchup on a sole broadcaster in Japan.

Series Averages and Patterns

The full seven-game series averaged over 15.7 million audience members on the Fox network, a 2% increase from last year’s Dodgers-Yankees matchup. This represents the first time after 2015 and 2016 that the Fall Classic has seen audience growth for two consecutive years.

Including the opening game telecast on the Univision network, the complete US average reached 16.1 million. The total Fall Classic average in the Japanese market was 9.7M and 8.1M in Canada.

The complete MLB Postseason on Fox and its sister channels drew 8.09M watchers, an 8% rise over the previous year and Fox’s best playoff ratings since 2017.
